Akiko Hirai Large Wood Fire Effect Jar in Beige

Handcrafted in London, a limited-edition collection by renowned Japanese ceramicist Akiko Hirai. Akiko does not usually create lidded vessels; these pieces mark a rare expression within her practice. She forms each piece by hand. During firing, serendipitous colours and blemishes occur, giving each piece its own distinct texture and life. Her distinctive works emerge from a rare balance of masterful craft and the unpredictable reaction of minerals and elements within the kiln. Every piece is unique.
